Brooke Pakistan – Pakistan's Largest Working Animal Welfare Organization
Brooke Pakistan named “Best INGO of the Year” 2025
Honored at the Global Business Summit & Awards 2025 in recognition of over three decades of holistic equine health, frontline disaster response, and rural livelihood empowerment.
National Recognition on the Global Stage
In recognition of over three decades of transformative service to working equines and vulnerable rural communities across Pakistan, Brooke Pakistan was awarded the prestigious “Best INGO of the Year – Animal Welfare & Community Impact” at the Global Business Summit & Awards 2025 ceremony held in Karachi.
The annual summit brought together prominent business leaders, diplomats, provincial ministers, and international civil society representatives to celebrate organisational excellence and humanitarian contributions. Brooke Pakistan was nominated first in the Animal Welfare and Community Development category, recognized by the jury for its unique, integrated approach that bridges direct veterinary care with socio-economic empowerment.
Dr. Javed Iqbal Gondal, Chief Executive Officer of Brooke Pakistan, received the award on behalf of the organisation's nationwide network of veterinarians, paravets, community animal health workers, and partner organisations.
Pioneering the 'One Welfare' Approach
The recognition underscores Brooke Pakistan's successful transition toward a systemic "One Welfare" model—recognizing that animal health, human livelihood, and environmental resilience are inextricably linked.
Brooke Pakistan extends its heartfelt gratitude to its implementing partners—including the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), Sukaar Foundation, and GODH—as well as academic allies, provincial livestock departments, and generous donors whose shared commitment made this milestone possible.
"This award is a testament to the tireless dedication of our teams who brave floods, extreme heat in brick kilns, and hazardous mining conditions every day. Working equines carry the weight of Pakistan's rural economy. By keeping these animals healthy, we directly protect the dignity, food security, and livelihoods of the families who depend on them.”
